Farmers conserving forage under the packed haylage technology participated in the competition. All submitted by competitors samples of forage were analyzed in a laboratory. Parameters effecting its quality: dry substance, exchange energy, content of protein and fiber, were checked. In addition, judges assessed accuracy of compliance with the technology. The first prize is training in Europe.
Under the in-line haylage technology it is possible to conserve and to preserve high-quality grass forage without preservatives. As experience has shown, the technology increases productivity of animals by 20-25%. In addition, cost of diet is reducing, and milk quality is improving.
The Competition was organized by Perm Research Institute for Agriculture and the Center for Assistance in Development of Dairy and Beef Stock Farming. General partner of the competition is Krasnokamsk Machinery and Repair Plant that manufactures the range of agricultural machinery used to apply the in-line haylage technology
